about me
about me

My name is Yu!
(Facebook http://www.facebook.com/yu.saitou.581)
I am a Japanese photographer specializing in cosplay in Japan. Until now I have taken 300K cosplay photos.

I would like to share my photos all over the world because Japanese cosplay is now part of culture. As you may know, cosplay culture begins here from Japan. The population of cosplay is now over 200K only in Japan.(Some people do cosplay only in their own house.) To record the pictures as many as possible, I launch the Cosplayjp blog. Hope you will enjoy Japanese cosplay photos here.

Also I sell my photos here. You can buy them via Etsy.
Once you buy it, You can enjoy the picture only for your private use.
(printing as posters, paper wall for yourPC/mobile, it’s really up to you.)

Please let me know if you needed larger size than it on the site.
Here are some samples.

Special note:
All pictures are not allowed for commercial publication by Yu Saito,
Therefore any re-publication and re-distribution of this content is
strictly prohibited. If you agree to this condition, please buy it
and enjoy them:).

In addition to that, I run photo sessions of cosplay every week.
I provide the space for both people who want to cosplay and take
cosplay photos. We can see many cosplayers at big events like Comic
Market, but it’s difficult to take perfect photos there because there
are many people around the cosplayers. Their frustration is here, “How
can we remove the people around the cosplayers? I would like to just
taking one person, but so many photographers and onlookers are here.”

Here is the URL for ‘Coswari’ which means discount cosplay photo session.

Many types of cosplayers join the events:)

If you needed any places to take pictures or join the events when you
come to Japan, please contact me! I would like to help you. I will
conduct you to
many OTAKU places. I want to make friends who lives in outside of Japan.

– For Press
When you would like to use the photos on this site,
please contact me before you publish it. I hold the rights of portrait
of all cosplayers on this site.

Please contact me if you needed Japanese cosplay pictures.
I have more cosplay photos than on the site.

Since I join many cosplay and OTAKU events, I will be able to take various
types of pictures. When you have any requests, I accept your offer
after submitting an assumption.

There are also many friends who are making using double-stick tape.

wow ! that’s great. it’s kinda hard to make the costume themselves.

Do you have anyone who cosplay?
If they were friends, you would not feel shy to take their photos.
If you come to a costume play event of Japan, You will be surprised at seeing them.

      1. Not really, actually most of my friends are not really interested in anime/manga so it’ll be difficult to ask them to join. There are few people I know that cosplay, but I’m too embarrassed to ask them about it ^^”

Yeah, I’m interested to see cosplay events in Japan, it seems fun to see characters I recognize ‘come to life’ and many of those cosplays are very well made..

      2. Many cosplayers don’t tell their friends they do cosplay.
They can meet their cosplay and cameramans’s friend at events.
